Abstract: In this paper, the coupled interaction between sloshing liquid, multi-containers and moving ship is studied. At each time step, the ship motion induces stresses and deformations as well as sloshing flow in the liquid-filled containers and in return, the containers induce external stress resultants that affect the ship motion. The coupled liquid-container-ship interaction problem is solved by using the finite element method, which is formulated on the basis of the relative displacements concept. The effects of multi-container parameters, number and location of containers, level of liquid in containers on the global motions of coupled system are conducted. It is shown that the proposed numerical method is a convenient tool for vibration analysis of liquid-container-ship system.
