Thin film Li electrolyte, as the key part in the thin film batteries, is very important to the performance of the thin film batteries. This paper reviews a wide range of lithium ion conductors including glassy electrolytes and crystalline electrolytes for potential application in the micro-batteries. The thin film Li electrolytes reported in the literatures are reviewed with a focus on their ionic and electronic conductivity, chemical stability, and compatibility with electrode materials.
