The commitment by the UNFCCC to conduct meetings in this format indicates that COP26 is likely to proceed as scheduled from 1 to 12 November 2021 in Glasgow, after a year’s postponement due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This meeting is preparatory in nature, giving Parties an opportunity to work on getting to a set of clear options in order to allow political decisions to be taken by Ministers in Glasgow.
