Title: | Plastic strain measurement in polypropylene using laser speckle technique | Authors: | Tay, C.J. Yap, C.M. Shang, H.M. Tay, T.E. |
Issue Date: | 15-Jan-1995 | Citation: | Tay, C.J.,Yap, C.M.,Shang, H.M.,Tay, T.E. (1995-01-15). Plastic strain measurement in polypropylene using laser speckle technique. Journal of Materials Processing Tech. 48 (1-4) : 307-313. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | This paper presents a laser speckle technique and a computer based image processing system for strain measurement in plastics. A new correlation parameter, the Integrated Peak Spectral Intensity Coefficient H1 is proposed. Test results on polypropylene specimens subjected to uni-axial stretching show a correlation between the Integrated Peak Spectral Intensity Coefficient H1 and strain. The advantages of this method are its non-contacting nature, absence of gauge marks, no limitation on specimen design and it enables measurement of plastic strains of up to 40%. © 1995. | Source Title: | Journal of Materials Processing Tech. | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/92770 | ISSN: | 09240136 |
