Abstract: Silica spheres were synthesized by a two-step method. It has been demonstrated that the addition ratio of ammonia catalyst influences the morphologies and the shape of the SiO2 spheres. The sizes of the silica spheres are mainly depended on the ratio of the TEOS reagents for both the initial beads and the final silica spheres. It has also been pointed out how to measurement the mass and volume percentages for the silica in the paper.
