Issue Date: | 7-Jul-2011 | Citation: | Vendrell, M., Samanta, A., Yun, S.-W., Chang, Y.-T. (2011-07-07). Synthesis and characterization of a cell-permeable near-infrared fluorescent deoxyglucose analogue for cancer cell imaging. Organic and Biomolecular Chemistry 9 (13) : 4760-4762. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. https://doi.org/10.1039/c1ob05519d | Abstract: | We report the synthesis and characterization of a novel NIR fluorescent deoxyglucose analogue, CyNE 2-DG. Experiments in different cell lines showed a preferential uptake of CyNE 2-DG in cancer cells and its effective competition with unlabeled d-glucose. Cell imaging experiments demonstrated the superior cell-permeability of CyNE 2-DG over the NIR standard IRDye 800CW 2-DG, and validated its application for cancer cell imaging in the NIR region. © The Royal Society of Chemistry 2011. | Source Title: | Organic and Biomolecular Chemistry | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/77129 | ISSN: | 14770520 | DOI: | 10.1039/c1ob05519d |
