Abstract: This paper focuses on the transmission properties of a finite-size photonic crystal slab with the linearly dispersive Lorentz dielectric, where the frequency-dependent Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) formulation based on the direct-integration method is extended from the conventional three-dimensional FDTD technique that has been numerically validated against the references in terms of the transmission spectra of a finite-size square-lattice dielectric photonic-crystal slab. © 2004 IEEE.
