Abstract: In this paper we evaluate the use of high frequency inductive links to transfer power wirelessly to short distances using inductive coupling, which finds typical use in biomedical implants and wireless chargers. We provide an optimization procedure for the wireless power link design for higher power transfer efficiency by considering an example application. Finally we verify our optimized design using simulations from HFSS and ADS. The theoretical results agree well with the simulation results. © 2011 IEEE.
