Abstract: This article discusses a research finding on smoke movement, temperature contour, smoke concentration contour and velocity vector of a fire in a concealed basement using CFD. Four fire scenarios were simulated and actual full-scale on-site fire tests were conducted to validate the results. Study was also carried out to evaluate the effectiveness and suitability of using a fire fan in such a fire scenario.
