Impact of double blind reviewing on SIGMOD publication: A more detail analysis

Abstract

Two studies was conducted to show that double blind reviewing makes an impact on SIGMOD publication. The studies will use median instead of mean for analysis, as it is more robust to the existence of outliers which can cut the mean drastically. Both SIGMOD and VDLB saw an increase of 26.19% and 56.90% respectively for the period 2001-2005. There are a lot of factors that must be taken into consideration before the database community makes a final choice on whether to continue with double blind review.
