Abstract: This special review is written to commemorate the life and contributions of Dr. Trevor Alleyne Thorpe, who passed away on May 18, 2020, at the age of 83 yr (https://www.sivb.org/InVitroReport/issue-54-2-april-june-2020/in-memoriam-4/). As part of his academic legacy, Trevor had trained an impressive number of laboratory members—15 PhD students, 14 Master’s students, 25 postdoctoral fellows, and many visiting scientists—who collectively identify themselves as proud members of “Team Thorpe.” This executive summary version of his major scientific contributions was prepared by the team.
