Abstract: In order to automate the kinematic analysis of rock slope stability, an alternative approach involving a vector method is proposed. A computer program is provided, which is suitable for use on a microcomputer and which can analyse possible plane sliding, wedge sliding and toppling of rock slope excavations. The program is verified by examples which show that the proposed analysis is more accurate and efficient than conventional stereonet method. © 1986.
