Abstract: Writing unit test code and verifying test results have always been time consuming practices in software development. Furthermore, manual comparison of test results are prone to human error. This dissertation proposes a method of automatically generating unit test codes that will reduce unit test coding and inspection effort. It is capable of handling both C program and script test codes. It expects an input document which describes the test cases and command line input on the range of test cases to generate. The document will be read through only once and parsing is done by scanning for keywords. Codes are generated along the way thus minimizing memory requirement. The generated codes automatically compares the actual and expected values of each test case, after which it reports and logs the results. The method is also applicable to higher levels of testing.
