Abstract: Graphene oxide (GO) has recently emerged as a new membrane material for high performance separation processes. The separation mechanisms, together with the manipulations of microstructures and surface properties of GO membranes have been well studied for the nanofiltration (NF) process. In this review, current achievements of GO membranes for NF applications are highlighted. Furthermore, the challenges and future research directions toward the stability enhancement and scale-up production of GO membranes are discussed.
