Title: | Time-Picking Methods for Seismic Cross-Hole Data with low signal-to-noise ratio | Authors: | Ng, CH Yannick Ku Taeseo |
Issue Date: | 22-Nov-2018 | Citation: | Ng, CH Yannick, Ku Taeseo (2018-11-22). Time-Picking Methods for Seismic Cross-Hole Data with low signal-to-noise ratio. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | In a seismic cross-hole test, the accuracy of a velocity tomogram depends on several factors such as the distance between the source and receivers, measurement of the seismic wave travel time, ray tracing technique, among others. In this study, the focus will be on the time-picking method for determining the wave arrival time, especially when the signal-to-noise ratio is low. The seismic data is collected from a field test that was carried out on the Kent Ridge campus of the National University of Singapore. The cross-correlation and modified energy method are herein investigated and their performance is compared in terms of the final shear-wave velocity tomograms. The latter indicates that the cross-correlation method seems to perform better as its velocity model compares better with the borehole data | URI: | https://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/154745 |
