Abstract: This study investigated the MPV of patients with major psychoses before and after 1 year of clozapine exposure. Data were obtained from chart reviews of patients who were initiated on clozapine at the Centre of Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in Toronto. 100 patients were eligible for this study; 65 remained on clozapine after 1 year. Prior to clozapine initiation, MPV was 10.79 ± 0.91 fL and there was no difference in MPV after 1 year of clozapine exposure (p = 0.777). We found high MPV in patients with schizophrenia and related psychoses, which was unaltered after 1 year of clozapine treatment. © 2014 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
