ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | In this paper, we explore the idea of using Knowware System (KWS) concepts to support 'software-framework reengineering' aspects of software evolution. We first briefly describe the problems faced while evolving an existing application from a particular framework, into another. There are two key factors that are vital in managing such reengineering efforts. First is to separate and encapsulate the changing aspects into isolated components. The second is to design and manage the dependencies among these components. Since Knowware System (KWS) facilitates building intelligent components that can work together interchangeably, it is found suitable to explore the application of KWS concepts in the area of 'software-framework reengineering'. © 2013 ISSN 1881-803X. | Source Title: | ICIC Express Letters | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/114669 | ISSN: | 1881803X |
