A comparison of magnetic field of superconductive in-vacuo undulators and permanent magnet undulators was presented. Scaling laws for these insertion devices were presented and a formula was derived which described the achievable magnetic field of a superconductive undulator as a function of gap-width and period length. Results showed that the maximum magnetic field produced by superconductive undulators for a given gap and a given period length was higher than the field in permanent undulators.
