Title: | c-myc Oncogene expression in colorectal cancer: its use in prognosis and role in colorectal carcinogenesis. | Authors: | Goh, H.S. Soong, T.W. Lee, Y.S. Ho, J. Goh, C.R. |
Issue Date: | Mar-1990 | Citation: | Goh, H.S., Soong, T.W., Lee, Y.S., Ho, J., Goh, C.R. (1990-03). c-myc Oncogene expression in colorectal cancer: its use in prognosis and role in colorectal carcinogenesis.. Annals of the Academy of Medicine Singapore 19 (2) : 139-141. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | Expression of the c-myc oncogene was studied in 35 cases of colorectal cancer. Elevated expression was found in 46% (16/35) of cases. This elevated c-myc expression was not significantly correlated with tumour stage, tumour size, tumour differentiation or carcinoembryonic antigen gene expression, demonstrating that it is not a useful prognostic indicator in colorectal cancer. The role of c-myc in colorectal carcinogenesis is discussed in the light of these findings and of the recent advances in molecular biology. | Source Title: | Annals of the Academy of Medicine Singapore | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/111831 | ISSN: | 03044602 |
