Abstract: Cymbidium sinense is a popular terrestrial orchid in South China. Research involving photosynthesis, photoassimilate partitioning, respiration, water relation, mineral nutrition, growth and development of this orchid are reviewed. It is suggested that understanding C. sinense physiology may he helpful to the improvement of cultivation techniques.
