Abstract: ONE SIZE DOES NOT FIT ALL. DRUG RESPONSE DIFFERENCES, INCLUDING ADVERSE DRUG REACTIONS (ADRS) ARE COMMON PHENOMENON. SINGLE NUCLEOTIDE POLYMORPHISMS (SNPS) HAVE BEEN REPORTED TO PLAY SIGNIFICANT ROLE. INITIALLY, I ELUCIDATED THE ARCHITECTURE OF SNPS IN DRUG-RESPONSE GENES, WHICH SHOWED ABUNDANT PRESENCE OF NOT ONLY CODING SNPS, BUT ALSO SNPS IN NON-CODING REGIONS. I THEN PERFORMED A WHOLE GENOME IDENTIFICATION OF SNPS THAT COULD POTENTIALLY BE SIGNIFICANT IN POPULATION DIFFERENTIATION ASSOCIATED WITH VARIOUS PHENOTYPES, INCLUDING DRUG RESPONSE. USING GENOME-WIDE DATA OF 23 MILLION SNPS, POPULATION GENETICS DIFFERENTIATION WAS ESTIMATED USING FST STATISTICS. SUBSEQUENTLY, I GENERATED POPULATION GENETIC PROFILING OF DRUG RESPONSES, AND CONSTRUCTED THE `PHARMA-SNP? WEB RESOURCE THAT PUBLISHES THIS INFORMATION. THE VAST KNOWLEDGE GENERATED IN THIS THESIS IS SIGNIFICANT AS IT CAN BE UTILIZED FOR DEVELOPMENT OF DRUG POPULATION-GENETIC PROFILING FOR THE POTENTIAL IDENTIFICATION OF POPULATIO
