Title: | Variation in kinetic properties of cassava leaf β-glucosidases | Authors: | Yeoh, H.-h. | Keywords: | β-glucosidase cassava Euphorbiaceae linamarase Manihot esculenta |
Issue Date: | 7-Dec-1988 | Citation: | Yeoh, H.-h. (1988-12-07). Variation in kinetic properties of cassava leaf β-glucosidases. Biochemical Systematics and Ecology 16 (6) : 525-528. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | Variations in kinetic properties of β-glucosidases from 16 cassava cultivars were osberved, in particular the Km values for p-nitrophenyl-β-d-glucoside and linamarin, Ki for glucono-l,5-lactone and energy of activation. With the exception of p-nitrophenyl-β-d-glucoside, the cassava enzymes showed better hydrolytic activity towards their natural substrate, linamarin, than for salicin, prunasin and amygdalin. Ward's minimum variance cluster analyses of the data revealed potential systematic application. © 1988. | Source Title: | Biochemical Systematics and Ecology | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/99764 | ISSN: | 03051978 |
