Abstract: A two-temperature model is proposed to explain the production of large-PT particles in pp, p-nucleus, and nucleus-nucleus collisions. The model gives good fits to the data on pp and pp - collisions over a range of c.m. energies s=23.5to540 GeV, as well as pα and αα collisions. © 1984 The American Physical Society.
