Title: | Self-defocusing in GaP induced by band-gap resonant nonlinear refraction | Authors: | Ji, W. Tang, S.H. Kukaswadia, A.K. |
Issue Date: | 1993 | Citation: | Ji, W., Tang, S.H., Kukaswadia, A.K. (1993). Self-defocusing in GaP induced by band-gap resonant nonlinear refraction. Journal of Applied Physics 73 (12) : 8455-8457. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. https://doi.org/10.1063/1.353418 | Abstract: | We report the observation of self-defocusing in GaP with nanosecond, 532-nm laser pulses. An electronic refractive nonlinearity (-1×10-21 cm3) has been obtained. We also present a band-filling theory for the band-gap resonant nonlinear refraction in indirect-band-gap semiconductors. A comparison shows that the theory is in good agreement with the experimental result. | Source Title: | Journal of Applied Physics | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/97891 | ISSN: | 00218979 | DOI: | 10.1063/1.353418 |
