Abstract: We have studied finite and infinite superlattices with alternating layers of two types of ferromagnetic materials. The magnetostatic limit is used, and the magnetic potential in every region is obtained by solving recurrence relations. The equations giving the frequency of all the spin waves for a finite as well as a semi-infinite system are derived for two superlattice models. In addition to surface modes characteristic of ferromagnetic/ferromagnetic interfaces, new types of surface modes appear. The numerical results for seven layers and for infinite systems are shown.
