Abstract: The use of a mixture of chlorodifluoromethane (R22) and carbon AOAxide (CO2) as mobile phase for the supercritical fluid chromatographic (SFC) analysis of 11 priority phenols is demonstrated. An investigation on the selectivity is carried out using two different types of stationary phases. In this application, capillary columns are used with UV detection at 280 nm. Satisfactory separation is achieved using an RSL-300 polyphenyldimethylslioxane column with a mobile phase consisting of 5% of R22 and 95% of CO2. The detection limits are found to between 0.01 to 3.80 ppm for the 11 phenols.
