dc.description.abstract | Micellar electrokinetic chromatography separation of organolead and organotin compounds was investigated. The effects of surfactant concentration and electrolyte buffer pH on the peak efficiencies and resolution were studied. Enrichment of the organolead and organotin species in water samples by liquid-liquid extraction and solid phase extraction using C18 membrane disk was performed. 1000-40,000 fold preconcentration for lead and tin species was obtained using solid phase extraction. The detection limits for organolead and organotin compounds were in the range of 1.1-5.2 parts per billion. The levels of these compounds in the collected water samples were determined. | |
