Abstract:	The polymeric title compound, [Zn(C 8H 18O 2PS 2) 2-(C 12H 12N 2)] n or [Zn[S 2P(OBu i) 2] 2(NC 5H 4CH 2CH 2C 5H 4N)] n, has the Zn atom located on a centre of inversion and the bridging bipyridine ligand situated around another centre of inversion. The Zn atom exists in a distorted octahedral, N 2S 4, geometry and the overall topology of the polymer is a straight chain. © 2004 International Union of Crystallography Printed in Great Britain - all rights reserved.
