dc.description.abstract | The title compound, octacarbonyl-1κ4C,2κ 4C-dihydrido-1κH,2κH-bis(phenyl-3κC) germaniumdiosmium(2 Ge-Os), [Os2(H)2(CO)8{Ge(C6H 5)2}], is the first cluster containing a single Os-E-Os (E = Ge, Sn or Pb) chain to be structurally characterized. The molecule possesses approximate C2 symmetry. The Os-Ge-Os metal chain is bent and the Os-Ge bonds [2.599(2) and 2.614 (2) Å] are the longest yet known. | |
