ScholarBank@NUS Repository.||Abstract:||The adsorption of cresol isomers on a bonded β-cyclodextrin-silica stationary phase has been studied. The adsorption equilibrium constants and kinetic parameters are determined by pulse chromatography. The calculated effective intraparticle diffusivity is in the order of 10-9-10-8 cm2/s in the temperature range of 283-323 K. The effective diffusivities have the same order as predicted values except at the temperature of 323 K. It is found that a restricted diffusion accompanied by the phenomena of adsorption of solutes occurs within adsorbent pores.
