To investigate the effects of RTiO3 (R=Mg, Sr, Ca, Ba, and Pb) on the multiferroic behavior of BiFeO3 thin film, 0.95 BiFeO 3 -0.05 RTiO3 thin films were grown on SrRuO3 -buffered SrTiO3 (111) substrates by off-axis radio frequency sputtering. Highly (111) orientated film texture was developed in these films. The 0.95 BiFeO3 -0.05 MgTiO3 thin film possesses a high remanent polarization of 2Pr -140.2 μC/cm2, a low coercive field of 2Ec -404.5 kV/cm, and enhanced fatigue endurance, together with improved magnetic behavior (2 Ms-64.2 emu/cm 3). © 2010 American Institute of Physics.
