dc.description.abstractA material structure is proposed to give pure in-plane (axis-1 and axis-2) shearing when loaded in the out-of-plane direction (axis-3). It is shown that it is possible to simultaneously attain v0 to give Poisson-shearing through the material structure. The Poison-shear ratio is defined, and demonstrated for the case of very large pure in-plane shearing for a prescribed out-of-plane loading.
