Abstract: The hydrostatic pressure dependence of the luminescence in CaS doped with Eu2+ was discussed. It was found that low-energy peak emerges with increasing pressure. A single configuration coordination model was presented. It was also observed that the emission doublet could be resolved at high pressure.
