An interpretative method for predicting optimum conditions for supercritical fluid extraction was developed. The proposed scheme was used for the optimization of temperature, initial pressure, and pressure gradient for the extraction of vitamin E. Eleven experiments were conducted to obtain global optimum conditions. The validity of the scheme was confirmed by comparing the predicted extraction efficiencies with the experimental values. The application of the predicted optimal SFE conditions for the extraction of vitamin E in corn oil was demonstrated.
