A Taylor dispersion instrument was used to measure the diffusion coefficients of methanol, ethanol, and 1-butanol in water. A correlation scheme based on a free-volume-type expression could be used to represent the experimental data to within experimental uncertainty. © 1990 American Chemical Society.
