dc.description.abstract | Dielectric polarisation and electric birefringence measurements are reported for biphenyl, 4-fluorobiphenyl, decafluorobiphenyl and decafluorobenzophenone as solutes in cyclohexane at 298 K. Preferred solution-state conformations deduced for decafluorobiphenyl and decafluorobenzophenone are compared with those of the unsubstituted compounds to gauge the effects of fluorine substitution. © 1985. | |
