Title: | DURABILITY OF SILICONE SEALANT BOND ON METAL OR GLASS. | Authors: | Gan, L.M. Ong, H.W.K. Tan, T.L. Chew, C.H. Lai, F.N. |
Issue Date: | Apr-1985 | Citation: | Gan, L.M.,Ong, H.W.K.,Tan, T.L.,Chew, C.H.,Lai, F.N. (1985-04). DURABILITY OF SILICONE SEALANT BOND ON METAL OR GLASS.. Durability of Building Materials 2 (4) : 379-388. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | Bonding of silicone sealant to aluminum, cold rolled steel, copper and glass was investigated in relation to the shear strengths of their lap joints. Surface pretreatment for aluminum and cold-rolled steel improved the bonding in varying degrees. Bond durability of silicone/metal composites was monitored after immersion in water and exposure to the equatorial environment. The joint failure and its possible failure mechanisms for these composites are discussed. | Source Title: | Durability of Building Materials | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/75993 | ISSN: | 01673890 |
