dc.description.abstractThe one-pot conversion of (±)-citronellal to menthol can be selectively catalysed by either a bifunctional Ni/Zr-zeolite beta catalyst or a dual catalyst system of Zr-beta and Ni/MCM-41, giving a high diastereoselectivity to (±)-menthol of 90-94%. © The Royal Society of Chemistry 2006.
