dc.description.abstractThe distribution functions for weight fraction and number fraction of linear step-growth polymerization are derived by discussing in parallel, the probability of obtaining a structural unit to be part of an X-mer and the probability of finding a molecule to be an X-mer. The discussion is aided by a schematic presentation.
