Abstract: A breath of fresh air: Without the need for organohalide precursors, the convenient and general synthesis of aryl-substituted benzothiazoles and benzoxazoles can be achieved by use of aryl boronic acids through direct arylation reactions catalyzed by a bimetallic system (see scheme). © 2011 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
