dc.description.abstractLeaves of the Malaysian medicinal plant Garcinia gaudichaudii yielded novel and cytotoxic gaudichaudiones A-D which are pentacyclic tetra- isoprenylated xanthonoids. These compounds which exhibited significant cytotoxicity to several cancer cell lines, had their structures determined by detailed spectral analysis.
