Abstract: The use of metal dopants has been the focus of much activity, primarily aimed at enhancing the electrical properties of polymeric materials. A series of copper additives have been investigated for their suitability as potential dopants in polyimide films. In all instances where the additives meet the solvent and thermal decomposition requirements, good polymer films with reasonable thermal stability have been produced which suggests that they are useful criteria in dopant selection.
