Abstract: HA coatings have been deposited on vertically aligned multiwalled carbon nanotubes (CNTs) via high-temperature rf magnetron sputtering deposition technique and the process of bonelike apatite formation on top of this CNT/HA surface has beenobserved when incubated in SPF solution. Coating HA material on well-aligned CNTs template can be one way to combine the unique mechanical properties and chemical stability of the CNTs with the biochemical properties of HA. ©2010 IEEE.
