Abstract: Two-dimensionally ordered porous polymer films have been prepared with polymers by the breath figure method in vacuum. Using this new technique, large-coverage porous polymer films with high quality can be obtained. The pore size can be altered by controlling air humidity, vacuum values and polymer concentrations. The polymer films with ordered porous structure and tunable pore sizes have potential applications in many areas such as microarrays and as scaffolds for tissue engineering. © 2008 Springer-Verlag.
