dc.description.abstract | Recently, the frequency response masking technique has been extended to the synthesis of sharp 2-D filters. While it has been demonstrated that sharp diamond-shaped filters may be realized efficiently, the techniques previously presented cannot be applied to the synthesis of 2-D diamond-shaped half-band filters. In this paper, we propose a modification of the technique for the synthesis of such filters. By taking advantage of the special properties of 2-D half-band filters, the complexity of the band-edge shaping and masking filters are also reduced. This yields a very efficient implementation of the 2-D diamond-shaped half-band filter. | |
