dc.description.abstract | An extension of the generalized predictve control which incorporates feedforward action is presented. This extended controller, referred to as GPCF (extended generalized predictive control incorporating feedforward), is applicable to situations in which there are measurable disturbances affecting the process output. Simulation studies together with an application involving real-time control of a heat-exchanger pilot plant demonstrate that the GPCF offers improved regulation in situations where there are measurable disturbances. | |
