Abstract: The most current approaches for parameter estimation of FM signal are based on the use of the Wigner-Ville Distribution (WVD), followed by Hough Transform (HT) to get higher performance. However, they suffer the drawbacks such as: heavy computation load, and complicated WVD space due to cross product and difficulty in searching multiple local maxim in HT space. In this paper an adaptive algorithm based on the modified WVD is presented for an accurate estimation of the Doppler parameters, useful for both moving target focusing and evaluation of the velocity components.
