ScholarBank@NUS Repository.||Abstract:||In this paper, a novel high performance robust sensorless speed controller for switched reluctance (SR) motors is proposed. The contribution of this work is the novel combination of an advanced nonlinear observer with a robust adaptive fuzzy controller to provide a robust sensorless system. The observer can estimate position and speed with high resolution in the whole speed range. The stability of the observer based controller is shown using Lyapunov techniques.
