dc.description.abstractAn effective compensation method is proposed to eliminate the beamforming distortions in compact antenna arrays due to the effects of mutual coupling.By using the receiving mutual impedances with the optimal Riblet-Chebyshev weights, it is possible to restore the distorted antenna array patterns for effective beamforming.Equations are derived to determine the compensated Riblet-Chebyshev weights used to restore the distorted antenna array patterns.Numerical examples using a compact antenna array are discussed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed compensation method.
