We develop a simple subspace-based blind channel estimation technique for single-input single-output (SISO) and multi-input multi-output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) systems based on a non-redundant linear block precoding. A novel contribution is that the proposed method can be applied for channel estimation in multi-input single-output (MISO) systems, where the traditional subspace based methods cannot be applied. Further consideration that can eliminate the multi-dimensional ambiguity for multiple transmitter scenarios is also provided. The numerical results clearly show the effectiveness of our proposed algorithm. © 2006 IEEE.
